Every once in a while, I suffer from pains in my back. Sometimes it’s in my lower back, when I forget to lift something correctly and other times it’s more of a cervical neck problem, which I can only assume is a result of bad posture when I’m using the computer or looking down at my cell phone. I know I’m not the only one with these issues. Actually, I think most of the people I know experience some form of back pain and as we become more sedentary, it’ll probably only get worse!
The last time I flew down to Florida to show off some great vacation rentals in Tamarac (a city near Fort Lauderdale), I got off the plane feeling really stiff. It’s a long flight from Seattle! I knew I wasn’t going to be very useful if I didn’t visit a chiropractor, so I went to someone local to the area – Back to Mind. I found them online and called them as soon as I got my baggage. Luckily, they were able to squeeze me in early the next day!
I know some people believe that chiropractic care is phony, but I’m not one of those people! I truly feel better after having an adjustment and getting some therapy. Back to Mind was actually one of the more sophisticated chiropractic offices I’ve been to in a while. I have my favorite chiropractor here in Seattle and I thought he had a state-of-the-art chiropractic office, that is, until I saw the one at Back to Mind. They had all kinds of treatment options, even aquatherapy! (I’m sort of bummed that I didn’t get to try that one.)
What I liked about the Back to Mind Chiropractors were how friendly and professional they were. First off, like I mentioned, they squeezed me in last minute. They knew full well I probably wouldn’t return to their office, since I live across the country, but they still treated me like an important patient. They performed a complete analysis to help determine the cause of the problem quickly, and then the doctor went ahead and adjusted some areas in my spine. It felt so good! After that, they gave me some massage therapy and some electrical muscle stimulation. I walked out of that chiropractic office feeling brand new!
I think what frustrates people about chiropractic care is that they think it’s going to be a one-time-solves-all kind of deal. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that. To really benefit from chiropractic care you’ve got to go to several visits. You might see some improvement right off the bat or you might not see it till weeks later. Everyone is different and it’s important not to give up. I’m glad I didn’t! I’ve been going to a chiropractor for a few years now. When I feel like something doesn’t feel right I go more frequently to get it worked on and corrected,
